Assuming himself the beneficiary of a drug deal gone bad, Gannon thinks he’s home free with the sudden windfall until he realizes he forgot to ask one simple question.Who were the six dead men on the plane?Gannon soon learns the answer to that fateful question as he is thrust into an increasingly complex and deadly game of cat and mouse with a group of the world’s most powerful and dangerous men who will stop at nothing to catch him.But as the walls close in, Gannon reveals a few secrets of his own. Before he retired to the islands, Gannon had another life, one with a lethal set of skills that he must now call back to the surface if he wants to make it out alive. As a decade-long James Patterson writing partner, Michael Ledwidge is a pro at writing fast-paced, in-the-moment prose, tightly choreographed action set pieces and plot twists that drop at exactly the right moment. With this novel, he kicks off an unstoppable, gripping new thriller series.

Book Stop at Nothing: A Novel (Michael Gannon Series Book 1) Review :

I read a lof of books, including many thrillers. Many of them follow the same, rather predictable pattern. But every now and then there is a thriller with an interesting twist, an interesting premise. Michael Ledwidge's Stop At Nothing is not that kind of thriller. To be honest, I was intrigued because I have read all of his collaborations with James Patterson, but the story seemed to be rather predictable. The story's main character witnesses a airplane going down and finds a lot of cash. Hmm, sounds like A Simple Plan redone...I was so wrong. This is a high-octane, unputdownable, page-turner if I've ever seen one. The book's structure is like Patterson's books, with close to 100 short chapters and a focus on the story. But it is better than anything published by Patterson in years! Actually, it is the best thriller I have read in years, and that includes books by Patterson, Baldacci, Finder, Deaver and Grisham. I won't spoil the story, but if you're looking for an exciting, fast-paced story with a believable protagonist, look no further. With this book (hopefully, the first in a long series!), Michael Ledwidge proves that he is one of the best thriller writers out there.
The opening crash sequence contained enough mistakes to hang our hero.. but i excused them as necessary to create a plot. One quarter of the book later, none of those details mattered. Our hero blows his cover with no effort required from the bad guys and the details of the opening sequence are consigned to the rubbish heap.On reflection, the whole pace of the book confirms why the opening was wasted. While plenty fast on action it's too shallow on content. Rewarding the puzzle solving reader is not the goal, and for me, the page count confirms it... this book was written to generate money for the writer, which is not a crime, except when you shortchange the reader. It burns bright enough, but lasts about as long as a two dollar firework. While i liked the action, i will not be investing in further books. I want more thought for my money.
